Hello my name is Elexis Hernandez I am a 25 year old Mexican American oil painter based in San Antonio Texas.
I have been professionally painting for over 11 years primarly focusing in Mexican Surrealism inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo, Leonora Carrington and others. My artwork primarily addresses topics of women’s health, cultural pride, and resilience through adult hardships that can be preserved through the expression of art. I create artwork that encourages connections with the people around me by showing the importance of storytelling and that representation matters.
